Get Help

Through our programs, Advent House confronts poverty and homelessness and all the challenges that surround them to uplift and improve lives. Serving our community with food, shelter, housing, youth groups and more, our programs are a vehicle for moving individuals and families from struggle to stability.

Weekend Day Shelter

Advent House’s Weekend Day Shelter is our longest-running program — the origin of our work to bring the community together to help our neighbors in need. The Weekend Day Shelter improves the daily lives of individuals and families — both those who have recently lost resources and those who face ongoing challenges with stability. Offering food, engagement, recreation, educational opportunities and more, this program fosters an environment that encourages skill-building and goal-setting.

Housing

As the housing needs of our community grow and change, Advent House shifts our efforts to help individuals and families who struggle with stability. Our homeless and eviction diversion programs provide case management to eligible residents of Ingham County, and financial assistance is available based on meeting current program guidelines and funding availability. As the lead Coordinated Entry Agency, Advent House connects unhoused people to available housing resources.

Street Outreach

Advent House participates in a Tri-County collaborative effort — alongside local partners such as the Capital Area Transportation Authority, the City of Lansing and the City of East Lansing — to provide street outreach to unsheltered individuals within Ingham, Clinton and Eaton counties.
